BARNET
Barnet boss Peter Shreeves welcomes rising star Danny
Brown into his squad for the first time this season ahead
of the trip to Leigh. The 21-year-old midfielder has not
figured since suffering a groin injury in the final game
of last season. Right-back Lee Gledhill, who has missed
the last three games with a muscle strain, is also back
in contention.
BURTON ALBION
Burton Albion are likely to field the same side that drew
at home to Halifax last weekend when they visit Dagenham
& Redbridge. However, central defender Mark Blount is
now available after a leg injury. Andy Sinton (groin)
will have a late fitness test but Darren Wassall remains
a long-term absentee.
CHESTER
Chester City defender Steve Harkness is available for the
trip to Hereford United after recovering from a groin
injury. Also vying for a return is fellow defender Phil
Bolland, who has recovered after breaking a bone in his
foot pre-season. But Mark Wright's men will be without
striker David Cameron, who completes a three-match
suspension.
DAG & RED
Dagenham & Redbridge welcome back three central
defenders for their game at home to Burton Albion. Mark
Smith is available for the first time this season after a
stomach strain and calf injury sustained pre-season. Lee
Matthews (cruciate knee ligament injury) and Tim Cole
(ankle) are back in contention but Ross Johnson (hip) is
doubtful.
DONCASTER
Doncaster manager Dave Penney believes he has the perfect
blend of defensive and attacking talent to sustain a
promotion challenge. Rovers sit top of the Conference
after six wins, one draw and one defeat. Penney said:
"We hope we can carry on. We've bolstered our
defence and added three strikers in the last year."
FARNBOROUGH
Farnborough striker Rocky Baptiste and midfielder Dean
Green are available for the game at home to Scarborough.
Baptiste fired two goals for the reserves in midweek
while Green, who scored a hat-trick in that game, should
return after a fortnight out due to shin splints. Gary
Patterson (knee) and Nathan Bunce (back) remain long-term
absentees.
FOREST GREEN
Forest Green Rovers midfielder Kevin Langan, who
underwent a hernia operation in the summer, is back in
contention for the game at home to Gravesend. Striker
Nathan Lightbody is the club's only long-term injury
victim, remaining out of action since breaking his leg in
last season's Gloucester Senior Cup match against
Mangotsfield.
GRAVESEND
Gravesend should field the same side as in last week's
4-1 victory over Nuneaton when they visit Forest Green.
Striker Liam Hatch (knee) remains sidelined while
midfielders Francis Duku (ankle) and Danny Lye (knee) and
defender Aaron Barnett (knee) are long-term absentees.
Mark Bentley, Matt Lee, Justin Skinner and Robert Owen
have minor injuries but should be available.
HALIFAX
Halifax's on-loan Oldham defender Shaun Garnett hopes his
spell at the Shay will boost both him and the club.
Garnett suffered a knee injury last year and endured a
testing debut against Doncaster this week. He said:
"I'm thankful to Halifax and hopefully it will work
both ways."
HEREFORD
Midfielder Ben Smith is Hereford's only absentee for the
game at home to Chester City. Smith is likely to be out
for two more weeks as he recovers from a dislocated
shoulder. A club spokesperson said: "Being at home
for the next two games will be good for morale and for
revenue."
KETTERING
Kettering Town player-manager Carl Shutt faces an injury
crisis at Rockingham Road ahead of the Conference
newcomers' game at home to Morecambe. Six players are
currently injured and Shutt himself suffered an ankle
ligament injury in last weekend's 4-1 drubbing at
Scarborough.
LEIGH RMI
Leigh boss Steve Waywell has a number of injury concerns
ahead of his side's home clash with Barnet. Midfielder
Gerry Harrison has been ruled out with a cartilage
problem, and joins defender Dominic Ludden on the
sidelines. Neil Durkin (hamstring) and Neil Fitzhenry
(ankle) are both rated as 50-50.
MARGATE
Manager Chris Kinnear faces a selection headache ahead of
Margate's trip to Nuneaton Borough. Simon Beard (foot)
will play no part while fellow defender Bill Edwards and
striker Darren Freeman are struggling with knee injuries.
But Leon Braithwaite hopes to shake off a calf strain and
Phil Collins (Achilles) is back in contention.
MORECAMBE
Morecambe's David McKearney is serving a onegame
suspension after his sending-off in the 2-1 win at
Hereford on August 26 and misses the clash with
Kettering. Defender Jim Bentley has returned to training
after the former Telford man sustained an ankle injury in
the Shrimps' pre-season game with Livingston.
NORTHWICH
Northwich may be without David McNiven when they visit
Woking. McNiven sustained an ankle injury in the 2-1
defeat against Doncaster and missed the loss to Yeovil
last week. Andy Woodward will have a late fitness test on
a calf injury and if he is ruled out, Steve Walsh is set
to deputise again.
NUNEATON
Nuneaton are poised to welcome back midfielder Warren
Peyton after illness for the clash with Margate at Manor
Park. Manager Steve Burr hopes Peyton's presence will
help his side bounce back from a 4-1 defeat at Gravesend.
Burr said: "Last week we didn't really turn up. We
are too up and down and need some consistency."
SCARBOROUGH
Scarborough are without Steve Baker for the trip to
Farnborough Town. The defender remains unavailable after
being sent off twice this season and sits out his fourth
game. Midfielder Jason Blunt is still sidelined with an
ankle injury but Nick Henry returns after serving a
three-match suspension following his dismissal at Burton
Albion.
SOUTHPORT
Southport have received a boost with news that skipper
Steve Soley could be included in their squad to face
Telford. Soley has yet to play a part in the new campaign
after sustaining a pre-season ankle injury. Manager Phil
Wilson said: "We can't expect him to set the world
alight but he could be involved."
STEVENAGE
Stevenage are without midfielder Simon Wormull as they
prepare to entertain highflying Yeovil. Wormull is ruled
out with a hamstring strain but the rest of Wayne
Turner's side came through last weekend's 1-1 draw with
Margate unscathed. Turner said: "We dominated that
game but needed to score an all-important second
goal."
TELFORD
Telford manager Jake King has completed the signing of
Ben Morley from Nationwide League newcomers Boston.
King's side lie third bottom of the Conference having
recorded only one win from seven games. He said:
"Ben can play anywhere up the right and has a bit of
pace."
WOKING
Woking boss Geoff Chapple is waiting on the fitness of
Nicky Banger ahead of the home clash with Northwich.
Banger has been struggling with a hamstring injury which
has ruled him out of the last three games. Warren Patmore
should return after a bout of flu ruled him out of the
2-1 loss to Hereford.
YEOVIL
Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson has a virtually
full-strength squad to choose from for the trip to
Stevenage Borough. Anthony Tonkin returns to the squad
following his back problem and only Tom White (knee) and
long-term absentee Adam Stansfield will be unavailable
for selection. The Glovers have won their last five games
to rocket up to third in the Conference table.
