Potters Bar Town v Barnet

Herts Senior Cup
Tuesday 19th November 7.45pm

This page is now in two parts due to the amount of information I've been sent.

Barnet Team

Firstly, I have it on fairly good authority that tomorrow's team will feature the likes of Harrison, Olayinka, Bell, Niven, Midgley and Oshitola.

Chances are by the time I've uploaded this it'll be on the official site anyway and I'll look like a right plonka ;-)

Record Attempt

Potters Bar's attendance record in a competitive fixture is 268. They are hoping that will be broken tomorrow. Come on - if we can take 800 to Stevenage we should bee able to do this no problem!

Potters Bar's attendance record for a friendly is 400 and something when we played them in a friendly in 1993 so we should be able to help them break that as well.

This was all in the earlier preview, but the chairman of the club, Peter waller, has contacted us to ask for our help in breaking the record set up by Wealdstone.

How to get there

Just in case you're not sure (and I must admit, beyond getting the 84 bus, I'm a bit vague) you need to do the following - courtesy of Reckless' programme notes:

Bus and Train

Trains from New Barnet take approx eight minutes to reach Potters Bar station . To get to the ground turn right out of the station and cross over Darkes Lane and into The Walk directly opposite. After a ten minute stroll up the gentle hill and just after a mini roundabout you will find Parkfield on your left.

The 84 Bus will take you to Potters Bar bus station where you double back on yourself for 400 yards and turn right into The Walk for the ground.

By Road

North on the A1000 out of Barnet and onto Potters Bar. At the traffic lights where you are able to turn right for the M25, and with The Lion public house to your right, go straight ahead and after half a mile turn left into The Walk where you will find the ground after 200 yards on your right down a little turning called Watkins Rise opposite Potters Bar Cricket Club.

Car Parking

There is a very small car park adjacent to the ground which may well be reserved for officials and players for this game. The club are opening the school car park which is next door to the ground especially for this fixture but they do insist that no one parks in the residental home which also neighbours the ground.

Car parking is available in The Walk or the High Street.
