Overseas Fans

By John Adkins (AKA Village)

I have been very busy recently meeting up with some of my overseas friends. Three from Sweden, six from Norway and three from Holland.

One of my Swedish friends, Sven Persson stayed at my home during his stay here. He attended the Kettering home game, not a great result for his first visit to Underhill.

Sven, an official of Swedish 6th division club Klagerup, exchanged pennants at half time of the Kettering game with commercial manager Kevin Mullen.

My other two Swedish friends, Kim Hedwall and Anders Folkessen visited me for an afternoon.

Whilst Sven Persson was here I met up with Tormod Tofte from Norway. He had come to England on a special deal that included the Premiership match between Chelsea and Bolton.

The other five Norwegians, all members of Barnet's football club of Norway, were here for the Easter weekend. Two of them were at Gravesend and all five were at home same against Woking.

Their trip was twofold, not only were they here to see Barnet play, but also to present the Barnet Norwegian player of the season award, the recipient being Junior Agogo.

Also present at Underhill from Holland on Easter Monday were Arie Groenvelel with his son Corne and Cees Kyecyep.

Lastly congratulations to Pete Smith, former member of the original K.B.A and Bees supporter, who got married on 3rd May.

Pete left the shores of Britain not to long ago to start a new life in Canada. In time he hopes to become Canadian citizen plus start a Canadian Bees' supporters club.

Good luck to you Pete from all of those who know you.
