Match Preview
Thanks to Hereford's 7-1 win at home to Halifax, Barnet drop a place on Goal Difference having drawn at Scarborough on Tuesday night, had they won, they'd be top by a single point. Never mind eh! Accrington's draw at Chester helped us greatly, but we couldn't take full advantage.

The last 8 goals that Barnet have scored in the league have been credited to lots of players apart from top scorer Guiliano Grazioli, which pretty much goes to show that we can play football and can win without him. So you one-man-teamers can shut your mouth for now! Ian Hendon grabbed his fifth goal of the campaign on Tuesday night and Ismail Yakubu also weighed with his first this season to help towards a 2-2 draw. An impressive Barnet turnout of about 70 saw Jimmy Kelly equalise with a thunderbolt with just five minutes left on the clock.

As for Accrington, they have gone against how almost everyone predicted, and have done very well. They have been teetering on the edge of the playoff spots for most of the season but their last three games have only yielded one point which has seen them drop to 11th place which shows the tightness in the middle of the table. Their last two games have also shown how unpredictable this division can be. Last Saturday Telford visited The Interlink Express Stadium and had a stunning 5-1 victory, Telford then went on to lose 1-0 at home to bottom placed Northwich. Chester was Accrington's next port of call and even though they were 3-1 down at Half Time, they managed to pull it back to 3-3.

Both sides have important FA Cup ties on the following weekend with the Bees travelling to Yeovil and Accy on the rather long trip to Bournemouth so maybe either or both sides will have one eye on those games. A win in those games could mean a ticket to Man. Utd or Arsenal, imagine that!

I know for a fact that Martin Allen will not have that game on his mind yet, whether Accrington do or not, that's their problem but either way, it's got a draw written all over it.

Accrington Stanley emulated Burton by breezing their way through the Unibond League to make it into the Conference for the first time. Of course, Accrington is a famous name in non-league circles having had their record expunged in 1962. They started again and 41 years later they are one step away from getting back to where they came from.

The fanbase has been sustained well with an average of 2,033. The one blip on the record was most probably thanks to the weather as the attendance against Telford was cut drastically to just 1,448. Attendances rarely drop below 2,000 but you do get the feeling that with the weather forecasted to be horrible again that this weekend's attendance could be low again.

You can be sure for an excellent photographic collection of this game, not just from Chris Holland but also from KIPAX whose website (www.kipax.com) holds a vast array of collections from many Accrington games including 81 of our game at Underhill earlier in the season. He tends to concentrate on the fans rather than the action itself and some of the moments he captures are no less than majestic.

On the pitch itself, scoring has not been a problem for Stanley with both Lutel James (11) and Paul Mullin (10) in double figures for the season. The closest to them is Andy Gouck with two. At home Accrington have done pretty well with 6 wins, a single draw, and 3 defeats. Two of those defeats coming against high flying Shrewsbury and Exeter and the other, as mentioned, against Telford. This is another game where we will be happy for the point, but let's not think negatively, let's go for three!
