| Just a couple of goals separate
Chester, Aldershot and Barnet at the top of the table
after Tuesday night's round of matches. Chester won at
Morecambe, Aldershot beat Exeter and Barnet beat
Gravesend with a 93rd minute which sent everyone in the
singing section of the East Terrace absolutely mental.
It's a term I've used a lot before, but seriously....... Previous leaders Hereford slipped to 4th after losing 2-0 at Accrington Stanley and will be hoping to capitalise on two teams above them meeting in what is easily the game of the day at The Deva. It's a mouth-watering prospect and I really hope that we can take many many people there and raise the proverbial roof. The last couple of games have produced some fantastic atmosphere on the ET and I'm certain that will be carried to the deepest edge of the Welsh Border for this one. Guiliano Grazioli deserves to be dropped, I mean, 17 goals in 16 games and none in the last 2 games in all competitions surely should result in the useless striker being left at home (For those of you not familiar with sarcasm, this should mean the complete opposite......) Seriously, the players will need to pull out a better performance than they did on Tuesday when they were the worse team to Gravesend at home. That said, they beat Chester at The Deva in the FA Cup. Chester are pretty much impregnable at home in the league so far this season having picked up 20 points out of 24 and have conceded just two in the process. On Tuesday they broke Morecambe's home record of being unbeaten at home since the first day of LAST season! It's a very tough test,
our hardest yet and if we pass......bloody hell..... |

| Two goals conceded at home in the
league, six wins out of eight, large attendances, this is
what you could call an unenviable task. Top of the league
on goal difference and a quality squad behind them,
Chester were one of the favourites before the season
started and they haven't disappointed the bookies at all. They seem to be the only people that are taking our threat seriously and I'm sure the rest of the league will finally look up at us should we get a result, such would be the magnitude of a victory over the team who are the best in the league in my humble opinion. The general feeling amongst their fans is that they will take a draw from this game with no hesitation and to be honest, so would I, so a 0-0 bore draw is on the cards then? I should hope not. The fans also seem to have a large unrest with their manager Mark Wright, which really does confuse me considering where they are in the league and where they were before he came. That said, some of the stuff he's done....... Surprisingly, Daryl Clare has a tally of just two for the season and considering his Graz-esque run towards the end of last season suggests he isn't performing to his potential. Their top scorer is Darryn Stamp who has eight in fourteen starts, so it would most likely be him that we have to look out for. What an occasion this
promises to be. |
