| Match Preview | |||
So we're back at Underhill for the first time since Forest Green were defeated in November and since then Barnet have had some mixed fortunes. Having been totally swept aside in the FA Cup at Yeovil and being beaten at Accrington things looked down as we moved into the Christmas programme but a strong second half fightback bought us three much needed points at Telford and with the results around us going our way, we were right back in the mix at the top. Chester, Hereford, Exeter and Aldershot all lost on Saturday and we took full advantage with the win at Telford. The result leaves us behind Hereford on Goal Difference and four points behind Chester with a game in hand. But to see how our opponents are getting on, we have to go all the way to the bottom. Farnborough started with ten (count them) defeats out of fourteen and the other games ended in draws. At the time, they were firmly rooted to the bottom of the table and the outlook was bleak. But then came a victory against Telford and off they went with a slight turn of fortunes. Although not brilliant, the table certainly looks more encouraging than it did just a few months ago. FA Cup interest ended for them when they were disposed of by lowly Weston Super Mare in the First Round and their FA Trophy campaign doesn't look too promising either, they managed to draw Canvey Island away. It isn't unlikely that the two sides could end up swapping places next season. Farnborough need to start picking up points again and they need to do it quickly and this could be the perfect opportunity with three key Barnet players missing. Also, don't
forget to catch the fans match being played on the
pitches behind Underhill from about 11 onwards! |

| Hmm, how do I start this one.
Farnborough aren't doing very well it's fair to say
although it would seem that their fortunes are beginning
to turn after stringing together a few draws and
victories of late. Still, they find themselves five
points away from safety but considering that they looked
like they could have been cut off completely, the are
still in with a chance of survival. It took until their 15th attempt to take victory from a match, 2-1 at home to inconsistent Telford, since then, they have picked up two more wins both coming at home to Northwich Victoria and neighbours Woking. That means that they have not picked up a victory on the road in the league this season, in fact, they haven't picked up a single point away from home. If you can't see where the omens are pointing to, you need therapy! Attendances have sunk since the start of the season, 1063 turned up on the first Tuesday night against ourselves but since then attendances have dropped to about 6-700, with the exception of Hereford's visit which pulled in 1334. It is beyond me that they can take 6.000 to Arsenal and be getting 600 at home to Scarborough, it just goes to show how fickle some people can be. |

| Even without Mr. Grazioli, we
still have enough firepower to overcome a lowly
Farnborough side. That's without trying to be arrogant of
course! Barnet 3-0 Farnborough Town, Att:: 1702 |
