Someone pinch me, I must be dreaming! Three wins against top seven opposition in two weeks (plus Margate) has left Barnet in 3rd place, yeah, third. The transformation has been unreal and the fantastic victory over Shrewsbury has made many Barnet fans realise that this really is possible! The goal at Shrewsbury bought unbelievable celebrations from the 200 or so that travelled and at the final whistle adrenalin was flowing through everyone's body, you could see the players appreciated our efforts and it's good to know that they do.

So Morecambe are next, with the unbelievable unbeaten home record (26 league games?) and the rather poor away record. There's no doubt if their away form was half as good as their away form last season they would've really been troubling Yeovil. It's interesting to note that should they stay unbeaten until we visit in February they can break the record by avoiding defeat against us (35 games!) The one thing that impressed me about Morecambe away from home is their fantastic support. Although not the largest numbers wise, the noise generated was nothing short of excellent and included a 20 minute rendition of "Jimmy Harvey's Barmy Army" at the end of the game. Brilliant they were.

Morecambe are 3rd in the form table with the same record as Barnet and Chester, who are above them. Five Wins, One Draw and No Losses, four of the wins being at home with the away draw being at struggling Northwich and the away win at Tamworth. Again it is their home record that is keeping them up the top, six wins out of six at home and one win, one draw and three defeats away so it would all the omens are pointing at a home win, with Barnet not losing at home so far this season.

It's four victories on the spin for the Bees all against very tough opposition in their own right. Stevenage, Margate and Shrewsbury have all been disposed of in their own back yard and Aldershot were beaten at Underhill, top scorer Guiliano Grazioli scoring in all of them. The good times are well and truly back at Underhill and we're all loving it.

Oh and it's Reckless' birthday do after the game.

Ah Morecambe, the ones with the great fans, the nice town, the lovely ground and the excellent team. If there was a team who I would support other than Barnet - it would be these. So friendly its untrue and a good laugh too if you listen to the boys who stayed in the York Hotel.

They come off the back of an excellent comeback at home to Farnborough Town where they were 2-0 down after half an hour due to two goals from Ali Chaaban but came back strongly to record a 3-2 victory and preserve their 100% home record. On Tuesday it took an 88th minute penalty by Adriano Rigoglioso (no I didn't copy and paste the spelling) to defeat Leigh RMI at Christie Park. Away from home has been a different story, defeats at Halifax, Hereford and Telford, a draw at Northwich and a victory at Tamworth. I think it's fair to say that Barnet will be favourites for this one.

Adriano Rigoglioso will be one of a number of real threats to the Barnet defence and midfielders Stuart Drummond and Michael Stringfellow have also come in for some rave reviews with sterling performances this season and last season. Garry Thompson plays on the right wing, and scored a stunning winner on Saturday, he's fast, strong and a powerful runner, has been very good against every left back he's come up against this season, product of the Morecambe Youth Academy and has represented England at semi pro level. He has a silly line on his head though (Thanks to Seagie for help with this bit!)
