| Match Preview | |||
| 700 Barnet supporters are
expected in Somerset on Saturday as the FA Cup journey
carries on into its fourth match. The draw has been kind
to Barnet in the first two rounds although needing 180
minutes against Stalybridge was unnecessary especially
when we were 2-0 in 30 minutes at Underhill. Needless to
say, we were less than happy with this draw when it was
announced. Last season's mindset would have seen us go into this expecting to lose and with our heads down but having spoken to left back Simon King as we waited for a bus on Tuesday night, my beliefs have been fulfilled, the players are well up for this one and they will not go down without a fight. Who knows, we could even pull off a big upset. We are free of injuries and suspensions so it will be a full strength line-up travelling to face the Conference's champions. Easily one of the best grounds I've visited, it is a ground worthy of league football, apart from the uncovered away end, which we are allocated. Please don't rain, please. In Kevin Gall, Yeovil have a striker that sends shudders down most defences, I only hope that the experienced heads of Chris Plummer and Danny Maddix can tuck him in their back pockets for 90 minutes and let the other players do the work at the other end. And believe it or not Yeovil fans, we are NOT a one man team. 13 goals in 5 games without Guiliano Grazioli (who you know very well of course) speaks for itself. Ah, the FA Cup, great
isn't it. Man Utd away anyone? |

| If there is one team in this
country that have everything going for them, it's Yeovil
Town. A brilliant stadium with space aplenty to extend, a
squad of pure class, a fantastic fanbase, money and the
ambition to go onwards and upwards through the football
league. Having finally broken their voodoo of not being able to win the Conference and being the nearly men for many years, they finally reached their goal of league football last season and after Christmas, it never looked in doubt as Yeovil marched relentlessly onto the title. And they aren't doing too badly this season either. 5th place after 20 games so far and have been almost impregnable at home. They have won 8 and lost just 2 of their home games, conceding just 6 in the process. It has been their away form keeping them back, with 4 wins, 1 draw and 5 defeats. They are 4 points behind leaders Oxford United whom they lost 1-0 to at The Kassam Stadium. Yeovil's name is of
course famous within FA Cup folklore and caused an
"upset" when they beat 2nd Divison Whatever happens, the
game should be more entertaining than last years affair
in the league, where a 0-0 bore draw was played out.
Don't worry, shocks DO happen! |
