BFCSA Committee statement

In light of recent speculation, the BFCSA Committee wishes to announce that it will be entering into discussions with the Barnet Football Club over the official message board and offering its support in looking at ways in which the message board can be improved.

The possibility of an improved and modernised message board that allows for healthy debate amongst all Bees fans is something we hope that fans will welcome. The committee do not wish to attempt to deny fans their right to an opinion, however we believe that we should look at ways of eliminating what we believe have been unacceptable levels of abuse recently aimed at the club, its employees, and fellow supporters.

The Committee wishes to make it clear that we will not be proposing to the club that it closes 'Netbees', nor do we have the power to do this.

Further to other rumours, we have no plans to offer a restricted access board for BFCSA members only. The interaction with the Club regarding the message board is one of only a number of improvements, changes and events that the SA is hoping to implement over the coming months. We are busy working on these and will publicise these in due course, but in light of recent criticism aimed at the Committee, and following some constructive input from members, we would like to remind members that we are always looking for additional suggestions, advice and support.

Do not forget, there are a number of ways in which you can contact the BFCSA Committee - by email info@bfcsa.co.uk, via our website www.bfcsa.co.uk, in person to committee members, or via a letter in the BFCSA postboxes situated beside the three home turnstile areas.

In advance of future Committee meetings, we will be asking supporters for comments or suggestions on topical issues. We look forward to your feedback.

In addition, we will be releasing a summary of future meetings via our website www.bfcsa.co.uk (starting with the February 2007 meeting), as well as continuing to release relevant information via the website, posters around the ground, and our biannual newsletter. Copies of minutes will be also available on request.
