BFCSA
Chairman
Eddie Thompson
05 July 2009
The BFCSA is
pleased to announce that the committee has voted in Eddie
Thompson as the new chairman.
Alex Jones was standing
in, following the resignation of our previous chairman
(Peter Williamson) earlier this year.
A short biography of
Eddie, and his vision for the BFCSA:
My first Barnet
programme dates from 1958 when I attended Underhill
with my father. Hard to believe I have just completed
my half century as a supporter. It is a long way from
Alf and Dennis D'Arcy to the current squad. It has
been a privilege to see so many fine players over the
years bringing so may great memories.
The biggest
difference over the half century is of course league
football. In the fifties there were many senior
non-league clubs in London. For Barnet still to be a
leading club when so many others have disappeared or
slipped into the obscurity of the lower regions of
non-league football is a tribute to the dedication of
so many who believe in our club.
I see BFCSA as an
independent yet vital part of the club dedicated to
working closely with the club chairman, directors and
management. Every supporter wants to see Barnet FC
continue to be a success story and I firmly believe
the SA has an important role to play to ensure that
the club meets with success both on and off the
pitch.
Significant effort
has been made over the past few years to develop a
good working relationship between the SA and the
club. I fully intend to work with the committee to
build on this success as we strive together to give
our supporters the good experience they deserve when
they visit Underhill.
