Past Player Career Stats

Below are the career stats for the past players from 2002/03 up to 2011/12. It shows the number of appearances (started and came on as sub), and goals scored. Players who did not appear for the First Team are not shown. They are sorted by career appearances, then career sub appearances. This is probably not the best way of displaying this information but until I think of a better way (and can be bothered to sort it out) then that's the way it is.

1. Josh Wright came back on loan from Charlton Athletic. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 04/12/2007 with 14 starts, 1 substitution and 1 goal. He made his first SA in his second spell on 12/01/2008.
2. Jason Norville had two spells for Barnet. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 09/09/2006 with 11 starts, 20 substitutions and 3 goals. He made his first SA in his second spell on 15/09/2007.
3. Nicky Nicolau had two spells for Barnet. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 03/05/2008 with 60 starts, 15 substitutions and 3 goals. He made his first SA in his second spell on 13/09/2008.
4. Ian Hendon is an ex-manager, and was assistant manager prior to that. Although he had a squad number for the 0809 season he did not made an appearance, nor warm the bench. His last appearance was as a 90th minute sub on 17/11/2007. He only started three games and came on as sub twice in the 0708 season. He last warmed the bench on 22/03/2008. His retirement from playing was officially announced on 15/07/2009. He managed the team from January 2009 to 27/04/2010.
5. Lee Harrison re-signed having previously played for Barnet. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 08/10/2002 with 262 starts, 0 substitutions and 0 goals. He made his first SA in his second spell on 06/08/2006. Lee became a coach but was still registered as a player. He last appeared on 18/04/2009, and last warmed the bench on 27/02/2010. He has now left the club.
6. Dean Sinclair returned on a month loan deal. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 05/05/2007 with 135 starts, 5 substitutions and 23 goals. He made his first SA in his second spell on 08/12/2009 and last on 28/12/2009 with a total of 137 starts, 7 substitutions and 24 goals.
7. Yannick Bolasie returned on a second loan deal after a loan spell in the 08/09 season. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 25/04/2009 with 17 starts, 3 substitutions and 3 goals. He made his first SA in his second spell on 08/08/2009 and last on 28/12/2009 with a total of 37 starts, 11 substitutions and 5 goals.
8. Matt Lockwood had two loans spells with the club. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 04/04/2009 with 12 starts, 0 substitutions and 0 goals. He made his his first SA in his second spell on 23/01/2010 and last on 24/04/2010 with 31 starts, 0 substitutions and 2 goals.
9. Paul Furlong returned after a loan spell in the 08/09 season. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 18/04/2009 with 21 starts, 0 substitutions and 9 goals. He made his first SA in his second spell on 08/08/2009.
10. Craig Dobson signed a short term deal with the club after a trial period in the 0405 season. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 28/09/2004 with 1 start, 3 substitutions and 0 goals. He made his only SA in his second spell on 02/11/2010.
11. Jake Cole signed for the club after a loan spell in the 08/09 season. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 13/04/2009 with 10 starts, 0 substitutions and 0 goals. He made his first SA in his second spell on 08/08/2009.
12. Sam Cox's last game is recorded as 26 March 2011 but he also played in the Herts Senior Cup final on 12 April 2011. These games aren't included in the above stats.
13. Scott McGleish signed after an earlier spell in the in the 9798 to 0001 seasons. According to the official site he had 138 league appearances and 37 league goals. According to DSH he had a total of 120 starts and 30 subs appearances with 42 goals (so this would mean 12 cup appearances and 5 cup goals overall). According to the 1997/98 Rothmans yearbook his first game was as above, and according to the Torquay programme from 05/05/2001 (yes, THAT Torquay game) his last game in his first spell was 09/01/2001.
14. Jordan Parkes signed for the club after a loan spell in the 0708 season. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 03/05/2008 with 7 starts, 3 substitutions and 0 goals. His first appearance in his second spell was 07/08/2010.
15. Sam Deering signed for Barnet after a loan spell in the 1011 season. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 07/05/2011 with 14 starts, 2 substitutions and 2 goals. His first appearance in his second spell was 06/08/2011.
16. Barry Fuller signed after a previous spell with Barnet. His last SA from his first spell was on 22/04/2006 with 15 starts and 0 substitutions, and 1 goal. His first appearance in his second spell was 21/08/2012.

2010/11
15 May 2010: Options have been extended with some players and offers made to others at the end of their contracts. The article did not specify which players.
25 May 2010: Barnet's full retained list will be announced when a new manager is appointed.
26 May 2010: Five candidates were interviewed [for the manager's post] last week and the name ... will be ... announced ... hopefully in the next few days.
28 May 2010: The new manager will review the whole retained list, which had to be completed earlier this month.
01 Jun 2010: Mark Stimson is the new manager ... [with] Scott Barrett, his assistant during his time at Gillingham ... Grays Athletic and Stevenage Borough. One of his first tasks ... will be to study the club's retained list to [see if] he wants to keep any player previously listed as 'released'.

30 Aug 2010: Stimson has go-ahead to strengthen his team as soon as possible with a striker being the No 1 priority. There is the imminent likelihood of perhaps two more signings. Seven trialists last week and others, including former Barnet players of the recent and not so recent eras, training at The Hive.
01 Jan 2011: Mark Stimson's contract has been terminated with immidiate effect. Paul Fairclough has been left temporarily in charge of the team.
06 Jan 2011: TK: "Some players will be leaving ... and new players will be brought in. Paul Fairclough [is] Temporary Manager and ... will be assisted by ... Michael Stone."
25 Jan 2011: Paul Fairclough: "We've come very, very close to making two signings, we were chasing two players but nothing quite materialised, but we do have a Brazilian player with us at the moment that we are very interested in and he is able to play in this country."
28 Jan 2011: PF: The club is still eyeing up a few possible signings. We concluded that [some Brazilian trialists] weren't going to give us anything ... we've [not] already got. We're looking for an attacking midfielder.

2011/12
13 May 2011: Lawrie Sanchez [is] to be Barnet's manager next season ... with Giuliano Grazioli as his assistant.

18 May 2011: Grazioli expects [the club] to improve the squad but he is keen for the bulk of the players who performed so well during the run-in to remain.
25 May 2011: Sanchez has no money to buy [players] but there are wages available.
01 Jun 2011: Sanchez ... is busy trying to bring in other new signings ... and resolving one or two contract issues.
16 Jun 2011: [Sanchez will] not be replacing [Devera] as Dennehy and Uddin should be available.
08 Jul 2011: Stuart Searle and Ryan Watts are having trials. Only announced by club as a local newspaper reported it. Trialists are usually not announced.
15 Jul 2011: Sanchez has still not signed a second goalkeeper as he planned.
18 Jul 2011: More [players] to come in the next week or so. A goalkeeper, a full back and a striker are [the] priority. [A] likely candidate for the full back position is Danny Senda. Neither ... Stuart Searle nor ... Leon Constantine ... would be offered contracts. Another couple of trialists [including left back Ryan Watts] were likely to be used against Gabala [friendly game].
19 Jul 2011: Darren Currie ... is training ... at The Hive. Also ... goalkeeper Dean Brill.
27 Jul 2011: Trialist news: Brill [has] an eye on a contract. Ryan Watts [still in the frame]; Bas Savage has left the club.
29 Jul 2011: Trialist news: Jason Price is on trial, having played against Sutton and should be playing against Milton Keynes. Nick Beasant played against Chesham, and was on the bench the following evening against Sutton, and against Milton Keynes.
26 Aug 2011: Sanchez ... is pleased with his squad and has no plans to bring in any new players before the transfer window closes next week.
03/09/2011: Sanchez: "We haven't got the biggest squad in the world." [Post-match interview after drawing 0-0 against Accrington Stanley.]
04 Sep 2011: Sanchez: "Priority is finding a forward to replace Jason Price."
11 Sep 2011: Sanchez has made an offer to [sign] a forward. (Lloyd Owusu's signing was announced the next day.)
30 Sep 2011: Marlon Beresford appointed as goalkeeping coach.
14 Oct 2011: Sanchez still believes that the current squad are good enough to climb up the table ... but has not ruled out returning to the loan market in search of a solution to his side's defensive problems.
26 Oct 2011: Sanchez hopes to bring in three three or four loan players "in the next ten days". He admitted ... players that were likely to be offered ... would [probably] be novices or [too expensive].
29 Oct 2011: Sanchez: I can't find two in the centre-half positions that work. New players need to be brought in [BBC, after beaten 6-3 at home by Burton].
02 Nov 2011: Sanchez: we are desperate to bring some players in. There are one or two guys that we have to get out of here, who don't want to go ... their money could be spent on people we need.
28/01/2012: Sanchez: "We will probably bring in another loan signing. We will have another player coming in to help the defensive side."
17/02/2012: Sanchez confirmed that he will be looking to keep the squad together until the end of the season; implying that there will be negotiations to extend all the loans until the end of the campaign.
16 Apr 2012: Martin Allen ... will take charge for the last 3 games [replacing] Lawrie Sanchez as of immediate effect.
16 Apr 2012: Paul Fairclough ... will head up the footballing side of the business. Martin Allen will report to Paul Fairclough. Tony Kleanthous said, "I've put personal matters aside in order to make the best decision I can make, to try and preserve our status in the Football League."
17 Apr 2012: Paul Fairclough ... is in charge of all development from youth academy to senior level. Fairclough has contacted Assistant Manager, Giuliano Grazioli, and First Team Coach, Michael Stone, to tell them to carry on as usual.
25 Apr 2012: MA: "I have added some Youth Team players to the squad."

2012/13

21 May 2012: Club still searching for a manager. No one is ruled out at present.
25 May 2012: Paul Fairclough: "[Martin Allen] has applied for the job amongst a lot of other applicants. Once I've found a couple of suitable candidates, I'll introduce those people to the chairman." [BBC]
10 Jun 2012: Mark Robson has been appointed as The Bees' new Head Coach. [He will] oversee the First Team in a restructuring of the club's football set-up.
22 Jun 2012: Robson: If we can get some young, fresh up-and-coming players and hopefully if we can get the right deals going we can get a few experienced players that would benefit the younger lads. We have been speaking to a lot of players and my phone hasn't stopped ringing. So hopefully we can get a few deals over the line and introduce them to the club [Barnet Times].
27 Jun 2012: All of the coaching staff who were in charge of First Team matters last season ... have left the club officially as of today. Includes Guiliano Grazioli (Assistant Manager), Michael Stone (Coach) as well as other members of the medical, coaching and backroom staff.
28 Jun 2012: MR: "We are still in talks with players but it is looking good. We are making progress and hopefully we will have a few by the end of this week. [Appointing a number two] will be completed very shortly as well. [Hopefully] by the end of this week." [Barnet Times]
12 Jul 2012: MR: "The side [in the Burnham friendly] will feature a number of trialists who [I have] seen in training but would like to see in a game situation before taking matters further."

17 Aug 2012: MR indicated that his search to add players to the squad is far from over. He is primarily looking for players that can add something to the squad "one that fits the bill" and perhaps with the squad being such a young one experience would be an asset, but primarily they need to be the right player.
05 Sep 2012: TK: We now have a larger budget than ever before [and are] embarking on an exciting new phase of signings.
22 Sep 2012: TK: I hope to announce a couple more signings in the coming weeks of a similar high calibre [as Collins John whose signing was announced in the same article].
26 Sep 2012: TK: We hope to announce a couple more new signings soon.
12 Oct 2012: Edgar Davids appointed as joint Head Coach and he intends to become a member of the playing squad.
16 Oct 2012: Ulrich Landvreugd aspoointed as assistant coach to help oversee the transition of young professionals into the first team and will be working alongside Kenny Brown. Together they will oversee the new Under 21 Development squad which now contains a number of first team regulars.
25 Oct 2012: MR: We still want to strengthen and bring in one or two more players of real quality to strengthen the squad and give us other options across the pitch. Hopefully we will do that in the next few weeks. We will look to strengthen in the areas we need to. I think maybe in the wider areas. So we will possibly look in that area but we are always on the lookout for quality players, no matter what position because we still need to strengthen the squad.
03 Dec 2012: Tom Donati is an U18 coach.
27 Dec 2012: Robson has left following clarification of coaching responsibilities. Edgar Davids will continue in his role as Head Coach and will take full responsibility for all first team footballing matters.

Names

I use the names as they appear on the Barnet programmes. There are some inconsistencies in the names that the players use on their shirts and what appears on other sites and papers. These include

• Tom Coulton is usually spelt Coulson on the BBC (and presumably anything else that comes via the Press Association).
• Andrew Hodges was spelt Andrew Hodge on another article on the official site the same day as this spelling was used later!
• Bondz N'Gala: spelt Ngala on BBC (Press Association) report.
• Emeka Nwachukwu was spelt Emeka Mwechukwu on another article on the official site the same day as this spelling was used later!
• Lee Roache is sometimes spelt Roach. Indeed there was some confusion in the club's own programme at one point. But this has been confirmed as the correct spelling.
• Jude Stirling is usually spelt Sterling on the BBC (and presumably anything else that comes via the Press Association).
• Joseph Tabiri was originally announced as Joseph Owusu Tabiri at the start of the 2007/08 season.
• Frazer Toms is often spelt Fraser. I believe this is a result of over zealous anti-Americanism! (Although if you look up 'organise' in the OED, you may be surprised - but that's an entirely different subject...)
• Ismail Yakubu is usually spelt Yakabu in other reports. Although I probably have used this spelling on this site elsewhere.

If anybody is certain of the spelling that should be used then please feel free to contact me on info@bfcsa.co.uk. Please mention your reason for being certain. Of course, a player should be able to use whatever spelling and name they damn well please, so if you're a player reading this (do they?) then please also feel free to contact me.

Other Information

Eventually we hope to have all the games played since the 1965-66 season on this site. Both by alphabetical order and by date order. This will enable you to see what game players started/finished with. I could include this information here but I think it may make it too cluttered.

This won't be this side of Christmas however! In the meantime if you want to know any more information then please contact us. Of course, if I can work out how to do databases like they have on confguide.com then the sky is the limit!

At some point I would like to

• do a similar table for all (?!) Barnet players back to 1965-66
• include a column showing which club an ex player went to, or other reason for leaving (eg retired from playing game).
